About Us

Te Kura o Hato Hohepa ki Taitoko – St Joseph’s School, Levin – sits in the shadow of the Tararuas, in the sunny and abundant Horowhenua. At 102 years young, the school SERVES a multiculturally-rich community in active partnership with the St Joseph’s parish. As a Christ-centred, Catholic, PB4L full-primary school, St Joseph’s is unique in the district and sought out for these features from Shannon through to Manukau. The school is at the outer edge of the Archdiocese of Wellington; providing a tūrangawaewae: a place on which to stand, to belong and to be empowered to grow your Catholic heart.

Past – Present – Future

The school was founded in 1920 by the Sisters of St Joseph of Nazareth. They built up a close-knit community within the parish to help Catholic families educate their children as whole people.  We look back at our Josephite Motto in order to look forward towards living a life founded on the Beatitudes and the Principles of Catholic Social Teaching.  Today we carry on the Josephite tradition by providing quality educational opportunities where children’s spiritual, physical, emotional, cultural and academic potential inspires them to be all that God intended.
